I found this rather interesting. Obviously, the NES was a superior system, but if Atari actually gave a damn, the 7800 could have done amazing things.

Atari was basically doing what Nintendo is doing nowadays. Just racing their own race.

The Jaguar felt so distant from the Atari from the 80s, it's like something in the company changed.

Atari was basically doing what Nintendo is doing nowadays. Just racing their own race. You're right. However, I think Nintendo is trying to succeed in their own way. Atari...not so much at this point. I think they were trying to dump a product that Jack Tramiel didn't believe in. For a guy who really did great things with the Commodore, he sure did the opposite with Atari.

But Atari's way of doing things were outdated back in the 80s.

i love the 7800. perfect arcade ports for its time. would of love it if it survived another couple of years to give us more arcade ports like original pacman, phoenix and other original games such as yar's revenge.
could it be compared to the nes?, no. but it is a great system in its own right.

Atari Age has a Pac-Man 3 in 1 cart available. It is really good, if you are still playing the 7800.

i don't play it. i recently sold everything from my saturn, dreamcast, ps2, ps1, 360 to all my nintendo gamecube and wii collections. now i'm working on rebuilding my gamecube and wii collection because i regret selling them but i needed the money. once i rebuild my nintendo collection, it's going to stay that way. i don't need anything else because i only play nintendo games now. will eventually buy the switch as well.
