They were called Dragon Warrior on the West and Akira Toriyama was involved. That's all I know.
I do however would have loved to play Dragon Quest Heroes I & II on the go, but it was never ported to the NS, I was really hopping for that.

I've only played a few minutes of the first one and maybe on of the SNES entries. I like Toriyama's art style: not really original or anything, but it feels "cozy" because it's so familiar. Besides that... I don't know much about the series. It's huge in Japan but was always overshadowed by Final Fantasy in the West.

Love the music and art. IV and VII are the only ones I've completed and they are also personal favorites.

I really liked III and VIII. Also IV and V but never actually beat those, I should get back to them sometime(would be starting over by now). I plan to get XI but not day one.
