Added and stickied. Sorry for the delay, just got my Christmas break, and a lot of other stuff has happened and I've been away from my computer.

Excellent game. My uncle had it on his computer, probably pirated, but he was very good at it. I was terrible at it, but I can't deny it was a lot of fun playing it.
It is fascinating to me that legacy consoles like the Dreamcast supported keyboards.
I grew up as a console player, so seeing people using keyboards for playing games like Quake 3 Arena always looks complicated to me.
Even if it may actually be a lot easier to play those games that way, it doesn't look easier, so I admire it.

This game is the reason I own two keyboards for my Dreamcast.

And do you ever play multiplayer? We used to back in the day, yes, they've been put to good use. After my Dreamcast died a few years ago I put them back in their original boxes and they're currently in my storage, on a shelf, ready to come out if I get a working Dreamcast again.

This game is classic Sega to me. No one else makes games like this. How fitting that it's on the Dreamcast, their most innovative console.
I think we had a thread about educational games here a while back. This is edutainment done right. You become a better typist because you *want* to improve, if only to get better at the game.
Beyond that, the game is hilarious. You can enjoy it for the voice acting and dialogue alone. To reference another thread which may or may not be blocked from my mind, this game is very much Camp. And I love it for it.
5/5

I've played the more recent release of Typing of the Dead on Steam and it's fun.

I've played the more recent release of Typing of the Dead on Steam and it's fun. Same here, it's the Overkill one. It lets you play both as a "Typing of" or a "House of" game (with a mouse), and, surprisingly, I far prefer the typing version. There's something just ludicrous about the entire concept that makes it funny. I wish Sega rereleased the original, I would buy it. Hell, I wish they rereleased the entire series, I love it.

Cervantes the Steam PC version isn't the same as the Dreamcast game? That's a bummer.

Dan E. Kool - The Steam game is a sequel of sorts - it's a typing version of House of the Dead: Overkill, the (initially) Wii entry in the franchise. It's still pretty good, but I wish I could play the Dreamcast one.
