Man, this movie rules. Eddie teams up with Nolte in his movie debut in the first true buddy cop movie and rivals Lethal Weapon as the best buddy action movie ever. Also featured in this movie is a Walter Hill favorite, the guy who played Sully in Commando, a movie Balder has never seen. The body count is a bit low, something remedied in the excellent sequel, but the quips, jokes, and chemistry between Eddie and Nolte more than make up for the lack of death. All in all, excellent movie for those who love action and comedy. 5/5 total classic.

It says content unavailable. Why have you pulled this sick joke on me cobretti? Promising me to watch 48 Hours only for it to be unavailable. You truly are a degenerate.

Probably a region block or something. Get a vpn man. Just researched it. Yes, it's region block. Ugh... I'll look into getting a VPN. I thought that stuff used to be free, now everyone's charging a ridiculous price. Who the hell spends 5 bucks a month on that stuff? For that price one could get XBL or PSN.

Seems like a good movie for Balder to prepare for Commando with. Same writer (de Souza).

Seems like a good movie for Balder to prepare for Commando with. Same writer (de Souza). Same director and same composer, too. I’m pretty sure this has some of the same steel drum riffs that Commando had.

I got NordVPN some months ago, and 48 Hrs. was one of the first movies I tried to watch. Unfortunately it was taken off tubi.tv within that time frame. Luckily it's back up there now for those who are interested. Here's my review I know for a fact cobretti will hate: "As far as buddy-cop movies go, this is pretty much the standard. That is not meant as jab, but rather a mostly neutral statement. It has its funny moments, but most the of the movie is grounded and not particular unique in any fashion. It has all the tropes. Nick Nolte plays the straight man white cop that is a little bit on the edge of the law and Eddie Murphy plays the funny con man. Murphy got the street smarts and uses it in favor of the law. These two do not get along very well, until they both show each other their appreciation by the end. Pretty basic stuff if you ask me. Still, I will say that both Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte do decent performance and it is a very enjoyable movie with a nice run-time. That said, you can watch almost any buddy-cop movie from this time period and get the same satisfaction. You could watch this and it would not be a bad choice (you could certainly make a worse choice and pick any of the Bad Boys movies). However, you could also watch something better like Beverly Hills Cop." 3/5 It's good, but not great.
