Tetris has always bored the crap out of me for some reason. Puyo Pyuo has always been my go-to puzzle game. Even Columns on Genesis is something I'd much rather play. Tetris just makes me want to barf out of boredom. It's literally the most ported game in existence and there's so little to the aesthetics and mechanics that after just 2 minutes of play I'm already bored of the game and feel like barfing.

scipioafricanus Balder Hey, the kid's entitled to unpopular opinions, isn't he (which isn't to say he may need correcting sometimes)? I agree that Puyo Puyo Pop/Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Pingas Machine is a bit more frantic. But ah, Tetris! Easy to learn, difficult to master in the later levels, where you need Jedi reflexes to stay alive. And this is before Tetris introduced the shape swapping option, which increased your chances of survival. The Marathon mode on B&W Game Boy Tetris has an ending! Really! There are construction workers dancing and a space shuttle! But on the GBC, depending on your score in Marathon, it shows you a little shuttle launch platform gag after you Game Over. My highest score got me the space shuttle, going up through the atmosphere, opening its cargo and dropping Tetris shapes down to Earth.

Have you really taken first? I've played a few times, and the highest I've ever been was 12. Right after that, everyone was targeting me. It involves a level of luck, sometimes you will get destroy at the beginning. Some tips: • Do random, instead of directly attacking people. • But when people are about to lose, do KO, they won't have time to counter. • Watch for the colors on the left, if is red you need to do a full clear of the screen fast, instead of just waiting, building up Tetris. • If it is grey you can work on your Tetris, the most Tetris you do the most you send garabage to others. • The game gets faster, even the music gives that sensation when it speeds up, but you always have time to do T-Spins which are necessary to clear some tricky lines. • Talking about T-Spins, if you have a chance to do one, do it because that also sends more garbage to them. • You want to keep making Tetris, or at least clear 2 or 3 lines at once to keep up with the other players. The key is to send them more garbage than you get. In conclusion the game is super fun, and highly addictive, so beware of that. |
