I was impressed by the splitscreen transitions in two player, but this game was too slow for me.

This is one of those games that I really wanted to played, and I even own it, but I have never even tried it. I'm ashamed to admit it, but that's how it is. ToeJam & Earl is just one example out of a hundred unplayed games I own. I always envisioned myself playing this with a friend since it looks incredibly fun. The thing about old consoles is that they're less convenient than a modern console wyich is always hooked up. Damn it feels so wrong to neglect them. I'll try this summer to play more of my unplayed games as they deserve to be played instead of stored neatly on a shelf.

I have it for PS3, and will get it on the Sega Genesis Classic as well.
For some reason I always thought these games were licensed based on an actual cartoon show.

I though it looked nice when I played it for the first time (it was even in 2-player mode, which must the the only really enjoyable way to play it). It was funny, the art was good... But when I got back to it years later, I thought there was not much to its gameplay: just walk around, looking for the ship parts and avoiding enemies. It's nice that the levels are procedurally generated and that the game has so much style, but it's not my jam.
Now that I think about it, the game is pretty much a roguelike walking simulator.

I have had a lot of fun with this game in co-op, but get bored playing solo most of the time. So I'll give it a 4 even though I first thought 5.
