Sonic & Knuckles aka Sonic 3: Part 2
It was good on its own, but putting other games on the slot made it seem more than just one game alone. And, since it didn't have a save feature, you had to practice.
Lock On technology was under-utilised. We could have different developers releasing expansion sets for their games and prolonging their replayability.
We had Knuckles trekking through Sonic 2 and got a glimpse, after collecting 14 emeralds, of Super Tails (in hindsight after Mania, should be retconned to Hyper Tails + his Flicky army of death).

This game enhances all three games. It's basically like DLC for the entire trilogy, but it was specifically designed for Sonic The Hedgehog 3, so that's why it is the game that gets the most benefit from it.

This will be released in Sonic Origins. I find that extremely cool, but what's up with the "tiers" Sega has for the game?

dschult3 - Everytime a game needs a chart to know what's in it, I give up and just wait for a very discounted "Definitive/GOTY" edition down the line. But it seems Sega is trying to outdo every screwed up release scheme: why the "Deluxe Edition" doesn't have everything? What is a "Character animation in the main menu" and why would I want it? Why would "Camera Controls" over anything be a DLC? Are those "100 coins" just normal coins that you get in the game after playing for 1-2 minutes? "Mirror Mode Unlocked" means only those editions have a Mirror Mode or that those editions just have it unlocked by default? The "Start Dash Pack" is included in the Deluxe Edition, but it has features missing on the Deluxe, how that works? Why not just erase it and include its items on the pre-order editions themselves? Why the hell should I need reading a flowchart to buy a game?Seriously, that's the dumbest thing any publisher could do: make your fanbase confused about what they're buying. This confusing, nick-and-dime DLC scheme is what killed games like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. It's even worse for old games that were already released many, many times.

It is absolutely stupid. I was interested, because it has Sonic 3 and Sonic CD, but now I really don't think I care anymore.

The chart is silly but it doesn't really bother me much. I like these games a lot so I'm down for some full on remasters of them. I'll go for digital deluxe but not be concerned about preordering. I could care less about letterbox background and mirror mode sounds like something I'd only play with for a few minutes.
