So let's try this new concept; each week a member will choose a game to be discussed in a stickied thread. It will sort of become a "main game discussion" where we can go in-depth of the things we think of the game. It would be great if the members would choose a game that is at least somewhat known (something like Rayman). A game discussion about Firefly for the 2600 doesn't spark that much discussion because it's to obsure. But I'll leave that to the members to decide. I'll also leave a poll on a scale from 1-5 on how much you liked the game (of course this isn't very accurate, but it leaves sort of an impression).

I've never played this one. Seems like something I'd like.

I chose this game because it is short and sweet and it gives you a big sense of accomplishment. Most Taito arcade games have that effect, like Truxton or Elevator Action. The version I have is the PC Engine one on the Wii. They have it on the Virtual Console among many other PC Engine games. By the way, thanks ModeratorNumber2 for adding these to out CGR community reviews thread.

I would say if you haven't played it you can't really vote, but you can always comment. The reason is that you don't really know how fun it is until you try it. So you can't really tell how much you actually would like it. If you haven't played it I would recommend it to everybody, specially if they have an open minded retro gaming mindset like most of us.

I haven't played it, but by watching some videos it looks really fun - by the way, Mark reviewed the Mega Drive version of Chase HQ 2 some years ago, here's the video:

Wow sorry, I didn't mean to vote. I didn't realize I had voted. It's was probably when my computer froze earlier today (gonna throw it away soon), and then I spammed a bunch of buttons in my rage and probably hit the poll. It would be stupid to rate a game I haven't played. Taito makes some awesome games like Truxton.

I might go ahead and pick it up next time I get some stuff there. Elevator Action Returns has become one of my favorite arcade games in the last couple years and I like other stuff of theirs as well.

It's alright.

You can of course discuss the game without playing it, but rating should be only the people who have some experience with it.

I've only played the Genesis version. I never got to play it in the arcade back in the day, unfortunately. The home version is OK, but I got bored with the game pretty quickly. Strange, since I love Super Hang-On, Outrun, and Road Rash which has similar gameplay. Chase HQ just doesn't feel as fast as those to me.

Chase H.Q. looks kinda cool, didn't know it had a sequel. (The arcade CHQ 2 from 2007, not the Genesis game)
I tried the TG16 version a bit and based on that I'm not sure if I'd give a 3 or 4. I think maybe nudge up to a 4 since the arcade version looks better, I need to try that version. I'll see if I can *ahem* summon it.

Now listen to that sound, that engine when it starts, the adrenaline, the chasing, the brutality, and the satisfaction of getting those daring to escape you.
Taito should sue EA for ruining this franchise and changing the name, seriously.

The sound is so much better in the arcade version. I'll have to see if I can play it on MAME.
