I own all of the Xbox 360 games, but I need people to play it with. And the only people willing to play a tactical shooter with me are the same people that I play Ghost Recon with. And we rarely have time to get together anymore.

I did a lot of millsim between ages of 14-17 on games like Arma and Operation Flashpoint. I now have a love/hate with both series, in the same way that someone who obsessively played a ton of wow but quit ends up hating MMOs. Footage from when I played Arma (Flashpoint servers died for millsim much earlier.) |

As I'm not really into realistic military shooters, I never played this series nor know anything about it.
Is it a spiritual predecessor of ARMA, since it's from the same developer?

Yes, the first flashpoint was also the first ARMA, but legal issues drove Bohemia to split off with a new engine and make ARMA 2. |

I have little experience with the series, not enough to give a rating. I have Arma: Cold War Assault which I think is an Operation Flashpoint game that got a name change. Haven't played it much though.

I forgot just how far back the Flashpoint series went.
The only one I played was Red River. I liked it but I ended up focusing more time into Arma 2 because there were more people playing at the time.
