Who said geometry couldn't make for a great video game? Okay, so it's not geometry in the traditional sense but damn if this series doesn't bring life to grids and shapes, I don't know what does. That's actually a major element for this game in that the environments are so life-like when surfaced on 3 dimensional grids, a big change from the previous games and a testament to what modern consoles are capable of visually. Seriously, this game is smooth in so many regards and the symmetrical twin-sticks of the PlayStation 4 controller are perfectly suited for the action and that's good news because Geometry Wars 3 demands mastery to progress through adventure mode. I would describe the difficulty as a hearty challenge and not an insufferable one. The fact that levels and game modes are so varied assists in this regard as well and make the title a fun game to return to for any length of time (although the sheer exhilaration and score goals via star count and leader boards can make the game very hard to put down). The one thing I miss is the 'space' backgrounds from Galaxies on the Wii that I showed off early in the video but other than that, Dimensions Evolved has so much content between three separate adventure modes to classic modes and local/online co-op/versus modes that it would be outrageous to decry the game on the basis of what it's missing. If you have a modern console to play it on, Geometry Wars 3 makes for a wonderful companion to shoot the shit on geometric planes. *****/*****

I love these kind of games. I never tried the Geometry Wars series, but I can already tell I will like it. It looks great.

This game looks really cool! Good job with the review, my friend. You're bringing games to light that I have never heard of. I may pick up the Wii version if I find it out in the wild. This looks like a lot of fun.

This looks like a lot of fun. Just like the Dreamcast you will never get. You know, I saw one at the flea market in town. It was going for $20, and I returned with the cash about 10 minutes later. The damn thing was gone. It was the cool sports edition too. As for the game, it is going for $4, and the boy needs a simplistic game to play. I think this is right up his alley.
