The most impressive is that the guy keeps making cool games today. This is the same guy that made Defender, Smash TV, and Cruis'n USA, and now it has a brand new 2017 game called Nex Machina on the PS4 together with Housemarque that are the same people that made gems such as Super Stardust and Resogun. On the arcades Robotron 2084 seems to definitely be one of the most legendary games of all time.

I would seriously rank this game in my top five favorite N64 games. That might not sound like high praise for some, but it is for me.
Robotron 64 is everything a remake should be. It keeps the feeling of the arcade original, but improves on almost everything else. It's fast paced, it's exciting, and it's addictive. And the music...
It sounds like the future! Well, the future in 1998, anyway.
Such an underrated game, but that's good news for those who don't own it yet, because it's cheap. I highly recommend it. My only gripe is that I wish it were a little more difficult.
PRO TIP: Play with two controllers! One N64 controller in each hand. Some call it "multiplayer" but I call it the only way to play. The N64 controllers are so light and weirdly shaped that it's not a problem.

Robotron 64 is my favorite game on N64. The music is so good it alone is enough to warrant that position and the game being great in all other aspects as well only helps secure it.
The PlayStation version, Robotron X, is equally excellent, though it's far from my favorite PlayStation game, but that's only because PlayStation got so many more excellent games that catered to my tastes than N64 ever did.
