Tommy Wiseau is what made this movie for me. He was so god damn sensationally quirky in every scene that I could never stop smiling. God bless that magnificent french man for making this quotable masterpiece of laughable melodrama happen.

I've literally just watched it. I hadn't laughed so loud in a long time. This movie is genious. Every scene is the best.
I will argue that Wiseau is the best part, but the other actors aren't far behind. And all the awkward sex scenes with what sound like gospel music (and what the hell was wrong with Denny wanting to WATCH?). And the awkward "throwing a ball around" moments. And the "drugs are bad, kids!" random messages. And Lisa being the most instable person ever ("I'm going to do what I want to do, and that's it. What do you think I should do?"). And people randomly entering their house just to have casual sex. And Johnny being so oblivious to everything, even when Lisa is making out with Mark in front of everyone. And his job being "with computers", but apparently he spends the entire day walking around aimlessly.
I can't believe I took so long to watch it. In my eyes, this is right up there with Deadly Prey.

By the way, James Franco seems to be really nailing Wiseau's mannerisms in Disaster Artist (a movie about the making of The Room):

James Franco has a very helpful name in the movie industry. One can see him getting older and having that name making him sound more important than he probably is.
Names like De Niro, Al Pacino, Travolta, Zeffirelli, Scorsese, etc., names that sound Jewish or Italian and foreign tend to have that impact.
Unlike something like Smith or Jones that are harder to pull off to sound interesting, and you have to work harder to make a name for yourself like Will or have a cool middle name such as Zeta.

I can never figure out if Wiseau honestly tried to make a good movie and is now playing it off as a joke after seeing it's reception, or if he was actually joking around the whole time. That guy is quite an enigma to me.
