An absolute classic. I agree with Mark - a must for the N64.

It would've been nice if Balder had mentioned in the OP that I was the one who suggested this review be discussed.
Anyway, I totally agree with Mark's review of F-Zero X, but I was really disappointed that he didn't comment on the strong comic-book influenced art direction, and the sheer amount of wonderfully crafted hand drawn character portraits featured in the game. That's what makes X my favorite F-Zero game by a wide margin; by comparison, GX was very bland looking, and lacked the comic book style featured in X. But I understand that Mark prefers GX for the fact that it was developed by Sega.

Really awesome review, he pretty much said everything that needed to be said, how amazing it is, how underrated it is, how good is the gameplay, and how incredible is the music.

Except he forgot to mention the good art direction. X's presentation is radically different from GX's. How could he fail to mention that?

I love the art direction on all three games, each game is extremely unique in their presentation, yet somehow they all manage to be perfectly synchronized onto the essence of what is F-Zero, evolving, bringing it one step further on each entry. It is one of the most perfect Nintendo series for sure.

I highly doubt it would happen. For starters, F-Zero is by far one of Nintendo's most hardcore IPs, and Nintendo doesn't give a shit about hardcore gamers these days (just look at how they've treated (or rather neglected) Melee fans). And two, I don't think they're interested in reviving a series unless it can sell well; the F-Zero games were never really best-sellers, at least not on the same level as Mario Kart. If they did make a new F-Zero, it would probably be casualized as hell, and I wouldn't want to see that happen.

That's the only real concern for me, but Metroid was also never a huge system seller. And yet, here comes Metroid 2018. Maybe they could license it out to someone else again? @sega, you up for it?
