I think this game was on the original Xbox first. I heard it was called Intincts Evolution or something like that. The graphics of those generations don't look bad to me. They look like a video game, but I can see someone not used to old school graphics not getting used to them.
There are much better shooters on the Wii like The House Of The Dead series, the Resident Evil Chronicles series, Ghost Squad, that kind of stuff. But I remember playing through the remake of GoldenEye. A game I rented back in the day for the Wii and it was solid considering all tye limitations for that kind of game.
I had never played a Far Cry game so I wouldn't know how good the series is.

I had never played a Far Cry game so I wouldn't know how good the series is. Play Far Cry 3 on PS3 or 360; it has one of the best villains of all video games. Now that is a good Far Cry game. Although you might not want to go to your desert island/South/Central American excursions after playing it. This doesn't even look like it would "it's so bad, it's good!" It just looks bad. |

For some reason Far Cry 4 is in my PS4 library. I just never downloaded it. I guess it was a Plus game at some point. It is weird that is there because I would remember buying it, and I don't. So I guess that one would be free for me to try. You know me about those excursions. I love them  |

I used to play that game for hours on end. The multiplayer was excellent too. It was a great remake, but I wish the developers could have done more to stay with the original concept of N64 game. |

I even bought it again on the PS3, but like you said it definitely was a miss opportunity to play with our nostalgia. I imagine they didn't do it because probably Rare owns those ideas, so EA had to do something else. Vas might make you think twice. Vas? |

This is a review I keep coming back to. It's both entertaining and informative. It's amazing how badly Ubisoft Montreal butchered this port (for those who don't know, it's a port of Far Cry Instincts Evolution on the Xbox). What really disgusts me is how they absolutely wrecked and neutered the multiplayer aspect of the game beyond recognition; Far Cry Instincts & Evolution were both known for having an extremely fun multiplayer mode, complete with full local multiplayer support and an awesome map editor. Vengence has no online, LAN or map editor support, and only allows two player locally via splitscreen. I've seen footage of the multiplayer and it looked horrendously bad, everything from the graphics to the level design.
Anyway, very funny review. It's not everyday you see Mark upload a review where he tears a game to shreds.

Started playing the game a few days ago and it's actually not as bad as Mark makes it out to be. Most of the controls are rather gimmicky (albeit responsive), but the shooting mechanics themselves are mostly good. Still not really a game I would recommend though. There are far better shooters that cost less than Far Cry Vengeance (like Goldeneye Rogue Agent).

This is one of the most frustrating and difficult FPS that I've ever played. The normal difficulty setting is extremely difficult, with enemy snipers that shoot you with pin point accuracy and often can kill you with a single hit. Health packs are extremely rare and usually the only way to get healed up is to heal yourself with the feral powers, which runs out and needs to be refilled with either headshots or melee strikes. It takes 8 headshots or 4 melee strikes to fill up the feral meter. It's ridiculously brutal, and the controls are so touchy and gimmicky that executing the right attack is never gurenteed. And it looks like ass. Fuck this game.
