Good movie, but I prefer the second movie which also stars Chop Top.
Best part is when the guy in the wheelchair dies. I actively hated him.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is perfect. It has the atmosphere, the terrible protagonists, the monster, the horror, the quality, the cheap production value etc. Every fault, bad camera work and cheap production value just adds to its perfection. It doesn't look fake cheap, it looks cheap as in "this isn't a standard horror movie", it kinda looks real. Tobe Hooper caught lightning in a bottle here, nothing ever came close to this again. It's one of those few horror movies that actually is horrifying.
Also, if you got time, read the IMDB trivia page about this movie. There's some serious fucked up shit going on behind the scenes.

This was your pick? I'm impressed. Watched it Halloween night and this one does indeed hold up A classic movie. Not just a horror classic but a great film in general that taps your left shoulder and just as you turn to look it delivers a sledgehammer to your right. And a very powerful message about animal cruelty as well. |

I haven't seen the film, but I've heard good things about it. I have seen Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses, which I found quite disturbing as a kid. It's basically just a retelling of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, since it's so heavily inspired by said film it's practically a spiritual successor.
