You really sure about that? I wouldn't take that chance if I were you... Assuming you're serious about your longevity of course. But whatever, it's naturally human to advocate and look for proof to justify for one's chosen/current lifestyle... I just hope for your sake you are right. No, that doesn't... ---MID RANGE ESSAY--- (skimmed over)
...important distinction. Like I said before, I hope you are right. Long winded convincing unnecessary.

So, quality over quantity? If the nutritional value is high, you don't need to eat so much, even if it's like only 100g of food a day? Well, your caloric intake is part of your nutritional needs. You have to meet those requirements as well. You can do that any way you want to whether is 6 meals or 1 meal. You are not going to die for doing either one. There is a popular myth that if you fast your metabolism will slow down to preserve energy. In the long run this is not a reality. The truth is your body needs energy and will use what it has if it needs it. At the same time you can eat six times a day and keep your metabolism up by forcing it to work those meals through out the day, and you will also be consuming that energy. This why you need to meet your caloric requirements either way. If you do 100g of fat a day that's only 900 calories and if they are carbs or protein that's only 400. If you are of certain age you better have something stored already if you want to keep up that for a while. Like I said before, I hope you are right. Long winded convincing unnecessary. Well, it is not about being right because I'm not trying to guess. I would recommend to watch many findings on all sides because if you only listen to one side it is easy to demonize the others. All the stuff is out there only a few links away. There is no excuse now that we live in an era where information is easily accessible. We can always learn more. There are things we still haven't fully figured out. Like how much water we really need per day. 8 liters is a real wild guess, but no one knows for sure. We just know when is too little and when is too much because your body tells you, and even that varies for everyone.

I was just reading an article the other day about how life expectancy over the last 150 years has doubled! Isn't that nuts? Just a century and a half ago, we were expected to make it to just 40. These days in the developed world, our life expectancy is around 80. Part of that is from things on stratogustav 's list, like numbers 6 and 10. Clean water is easier to come by and working conditions have improved dramatically since the 1800s. But two more things that have doubled our life expectancy that aren't on his list: year-round availability of fresh foods which we can keep fresh at home, and a better understanding of the microscopic world (bacteria) and the medicine to combat it. People were dying left and right from what would today be common ailments that can be handled with over-the-counter drugs. Only a couple hundred years ago, it was a sign of wealth and nobility to have your own orange trees so that you could have scurvy-killing vitamin C all year long. These days you can find enough money lying on the street to pick up a fresh tangerine at your local super market! So if you want to live a long life, chances are you're already doing it. Keep your food fresh by refrigerating it, take the drugs your doctor prescribes you, wash your hands, and thank God you live in the modern world.

Dan E. Kool Well, one thing that helped tremendously besides obviously the invention of vacinations that eliminated a big chunck of mortal epidemics, [the vacinations is what helped the most than anything else by a significant percent], is also aspirin. Aspirin can lower things like AA by preventing the body to make more. That is why a certain amount of older people are prescribed with one aspirin a day, the inflammation caused by an excess of Omega 6 cause by all these oils people and restaurants use to cook food, which completely unbalances their fatty acids ratio. Of course do not take aspirin unless it is prescribed by a doctor, remember that pills in general in the long run can affect your liver. Instead do 2 and 1 to keep your EPA and DHP high and your AA, ALA, and LA lower. Number 3 specially refers to the kind of fresh food you really need because they have almost 100% of all nutrients you need daily, which are dark leafy greens such as kale and spinach. Of course you can also get those nutrients from various other sources, but the advantage of dark leafy greens is that they have almost everything packed together. While if you are trying to get all your vitamins and minerals from other sources you will need to have a crazy amount of variety of foods in your meals to not miss anything. That said healthcare is a big business now and even though medication can artificially extend your life it can also lower your quality of life, so do the 12 steps and you will be less likely to need medication or to get your body cut open for a surgery.

Well, the natural stuff alone just won't get you to 90!

Well, the natural stuff alone just won't get you to 90! Depends what you mean by natural stuff. If by natural stuff you mean my 12 steps, with my 12 steps if you have solid genes you can go beyond 100. Pass 90 is just for people with average genes. If by natutal stuff you mean missing my 12 steps or relying solely on alternative medicine then no, you are unlikely to live pass 90 unless your genes are amazing or you have the luck to find an extraordinary curandero.

You touch on an interesting point : genes. Unfortunately we don't get to pick our parents (or grandparents). Some of us will live a long life without issue, others are damned with a bad heart and despite our best efforts, keel over at 70 after a heart attack. That's just the way it goes.
If you like eating kale and fish pills and doing yoga, I say do it. But if you don't, I say don't. Life it too short to spend your days doing things you don't like. Do what you want, how you want, and let the chips fall as they may. They're gonna fall eventually, anyway.
Here's a video I watched a while ago. Some cool perspective here.

Like I said before, if your genes are amazing you can do whatever. That said you can extend your life and your quality of life by doing the things on the OP. If you look at them, they are not too much to ask. It's almost like asking people to shower so they don't smell.
Except for 3, I admit 3 is hard, or some things in 10, like not having unprotected sex with multiple partners, some dangerous stuff is actually hard to avoid.
