Just wanted to start a discussion on this show. I've been watching it ever since S1 came out in BD, and I've bought every season that have come out. But God damn has this show gone downhill! I thought the series gradually started to go down with S4, but after watching S7 I have to say I'm impressed by the shit quality writing. There's no interesting characters (except for Negan) and those who were interesting are now written terrible and are so damn boring. The season finale is the most boring season finale I've ever seen (and that's saying a lot considering I've seen the season finale of both Arrrow S4 and The Flash S2).
So how about you guys? You like it?

Out during season two; no regrets.

Yeah, I also got out when I finished season 2, when it was clear they were going for a soap opera.

Watched it actively up to around mid season 5 I think, then started watching sporadically, now if I happen to catch it on TV I still check other channels to see if anything else is on, or more preferably just play some games instead.
When they met Negan it was obvious they weren't into making a zombie series at all anymore, it was exclusively about people killing people at that point, like any other boring TV show I avoid.

I never tried it. It always felt it was too popular for my taste. This is why I haven't seen Pokémon, any of the Twilight movies, or any Harry Potter movie after the first one. When something is aimed to be liked by most people I already know it is missing authenticity.

I've only read the first 6 or so issues of the comic and that was years ago. I liked it, but nothing about it really stuck out to me so I didn't feel compelled to read the rest or start watching the show. It's not as much of a problem now, but back when the show came out I was so exhausted with all the zombie shit coming out in every facet of media that I really wasn't attracted to The Walking Dead at all.

I felt like the show really streamlined zombies and stuck to a set of ground rules, which was quite refreshing when most zombie series/movies just slap together something.
