About the guy in this video, Robbie Lakeman broke his record just 3 days ago on February 2nd, again.
They are all very dedicated players. Surprisingly Eminem is still one of the top 50 in the world.

I saw a playthrough of one of the old records and at first I was intrigued but then thought 'nah forget it' (yo homes to Bel Air). It's like watching someone go for big points in Bubble Bobble by sitting there doing nothing until the time counts down. Drives me nuts how they play it but I understand why - that's how you get the big points because that's just how it was programmed. Gave me a new appreciation for people who go for high score 1cc on shooters. That seems a lot more fun, although it's kind of interesting in DK how people figure out when to go for the hammer and where to be to get a double barrel jump.
But I did notice what he was doing and he was missing a lot of points, 100 here, 100 there. It got me wondering how they ever thought 1 million was impossible. (I believe when Billy Mitchell set the original record as a teenager he claimed the other high score was bogus - ironic, no? - because he thought 1 million was impossible)
