I love Rogue One. At least Rogue One feels like Star Wars. Honestly this trailer is giving me Star Trek vibes. I'm not feeling it at all. I'll watch it because it is Star Wars, so it is probably going to be on 3D and it will have John Williams music, and space ships. That's more than enough to me, but I'm really not liking the Star Trek vibes, it is the total opposite of what I expect from a Star Wars movie. I haven't been disappointed with any of the Disney movies so far, I hope this is not the first one. I need clarification on what exactly a “Star Trek vibe” is. I’m a pretty hardcore Trekker so I can say with some authority what a Trek vibe is.

Meh. The perfect Han Solo movie in my head would be something like The Good, The Bad and the Ugly in the Star Wars universe. This one is going for a "racing crew" vibe (Need for Speed, Fast & Furious, Gone in 60 Seconds etc.), it does nothing for me. I'll still stand by my opinion that Rogue One was awesome, though - I'll even say it was the best Star Wars movie since the original trilogy, rehashed plot aside. I liked you post about the Solo film, but after reading your opinions on R1 I feel like I have to take it back.

Good flim. (I hope)Emilia Clarke is waaaay more beuwtifel than Princess Leia. If nothing else at least Landos back. If Disney doesn't get Billy Dee to come back for IX there'll be hell to pay... You are simply not to ve trusted when it comes to Star Wars. Emilia Clarke is a fucking terrible actor. Whenever I look at her, I cannot help it but remember her god awful part in Terminator Genisys.

It is hard to describe for me, but I would say more 70s TV show series oriented, laidback, not trying to impress. But like I said, that is just from looking at the trailer, the movie could be an entire different thing.

Han Solo is my favorite Star Wars character, seeing him get killed in a pathetic way, then seeing him being interpreted by an actor who doesn't look even that "regular good" we expect of people in a trailer that seems to be screaming "family fun"... Yeah... I can see myself not watching the next main Star Wars episode at the theater if this one blows.

It would be interesting if they used these non mainline movies to do Star Wars with different vibes. I see what you’re getting at, kind of. If it was going to go full Trek and get philosophical and be dialogue heavy, maybe the Han Solo movie wouldn’t be the best character to try that experiment on.

This one gives me the vibe that it may feel different than everything we have seen so far, but maybe it is just the trailer.
