My kids and I were grocery shopping, and we came upon two boxes Super Mario cereal. I laughed as soon as my son asked for it, because I remembered the Christmas time scalping issue. Normally, I would tell him no due to the price. ($4.50 for a tiny box.) However, the morons on eBay were selling it for $25 a box in December, so I decided to splurge this one time. After my son gleefully stared at the box for 15 minutes, he handed it to my daughter, who is one, and she gleefully threw it on the floor. As she threw it, I heard every neck beard in their mother's basement screaming, "Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!" in Darth Vader's voice. Then, when we went home, my son (gasp!) opened the box to eat the cereal. The "collector's item" was no longer "sealed in box." Later, it was reported that another neck beard was hospitalized at the thought of a child actually using a product intended for him. Clearly there is something wrong in my household.
The cereal tastes like Lucky Charms, by the way. It isn't half bad, but it isn't worth the price.

Being a Nintendo product, did it have any kind of motion controls? The cereal was in a proprietary format? I bet it doesn't have any third parties. Can you build a robot with the cardboard?
Sega's cereal is probably more rad anyway.

I bought 4 boxes. They were $2.50 each at Wal*Mart. I guess I should count them in my Amiibo collection.
The boxes were all the way at the top of the aisle. I think someone put them there to keep them away from people, I don't know, but I couldn't resist buying all four.
By the way, $25 is 10 times the price, those people are nuts if they wanted to sell it to you for that amount.

People were paying over $20 for them when they were more scarce, I think that ship has sailed now though. |
