First time I hear about this one. The Super Nintendo was used by the military complex to train its army soldiers for deadly combat in the middle of the Golf War!
Man, if this doesn't convince people of the power of the Super Nintendo I don't know what will. What a share, thanks for this juicy bit of information.

I have only heard about this legendary story. I would love to have this in my collection, but the price is insane! While you were practicing with this, we used something different in the Marines. The kick on the M16 A-2 rigs with the M203 was comical at best. What was it like using this?

But kinda like duck-hunt with a rifle light gun. Air rifles were/are more efficient and cheaper training tools.

The sims we used were in a building with a huge movie screen. We could get a platoon in, and we would fire M203s and I want to say TOW missiles. Stingers were done in a different place altogether. Anyways, the training gave us a good feel for what it was like to use them, but the accuracy seemed off. This Super Nintendo sim looks more accurate. I hated the lack of actual kick, though. It felt like it was more of a toy. By the way, do you have any clue as to why they used the 10 round mag? I never saw those used in the Marines.

We were still taught that using the thirty round mag as a bi-pod would cause malfunctions so this would allow everyone to work prone with that issue. It was like 6-10 ft away from the screen.

Such an amazing story.
A similar thing happened with the PS3 where the army used PS3 consoles to build some kind of matrix super computer.
Pretty awesome stuff.

That price is insane! I love how people think they can make a fortune on eBay with a find like this. Many of these were made, so they weren't rare. It is just a matter of finding where the DoD put them. I wonder if you can play it with a Super Scope, since it doesn't come with the M-16.

Yeah, I have heard people saying they still have the scope, so who knows if it still works. I knew many people with SNES consoles, but the scope I only saw it at the fair/expo.

The M16 controller on the other hand is the holy grail.
