Reducing childhood death from preventable diseases with free vaccinations seems like a counterintuitive way of decreasing the surplus population. But I guess Bill Gates knows what he's doing... It may sound counter-intuitive but it's actually not. I've studied demographics and history at college. A healthy and well educated population is the best cure for overpopulation. It's incredibly effective. I guess there aren't any Chuck Dickens fans here. Not even Cervantes? OK. Thanks for the explanation, Balder, but I was actually just making a tongue-in-cheek remark about stratogustav's assertion that Bill Gates would on one hand spend billions of dollars to help those in need, and on the other hand mercilessly destroy anyone who rejects his help by releasing the measles on them. Which I'm sure we all realize is totally ridiculous. Everyone knows that's Wozniak's schtick. Can't trust The Woz.

Dan E. Kool - Oh, that's originally a Wozniak's schtick? I didn't know. I thought it was Steve Jobs'.

stratogustav Am I reading you wrong, or are you on board with what Gates is on about? You, me and everyone here are just as expendable. I'm all for careful and sustainable family management, but aren't we ALL useless animals in the eyes of the global elite? I agree, everyone is expandable, and like I said, what Bill is doing is definitely Machiavellian. I'm just giving him credit for thinking long term. It isn't pretty, but we no longer have a Hitler, and having microtech taking care of the issue could get out of hand and become worse. In plain terms the amount of issues overpopulation causes add ups to basically having suicidal tendencies for our own humanity. By reducing the numbers, we are also increasing our habitat's lifespam. Sadly, anyone can be a victim, and having involuntary sacrifices is the most monstrous case scenario, but with the rate our population has been growing we have to admit that at this point these are basically last minute measures. Bro, you misunderstood, the measles part was likely an isolated incident he used as an example. It is not even relevant because that would be counterintuitive and completely unnecessary when vaccines alone can do the job in a more humane manner.

To measure the results he then proceeds to release measles to find out which children did not get the vaccine. It is easy to tell after that because the children that die of measles are the ones that did not get the vaccines.

Haha, yeah man, or maybe I understood you wrong. You made it sound like the measles part was how things are done and that it was the main point. As opposed of simply noting that was just a small part of the bigger picture. To clarify, if you read the entire post, the bigger picture is that overpopulation is in control and that Bill is using his health programs to accomplish it, specifically in areas considered underdeveloped such as parts of Africa and parts of the Middle East.

You have to take into account that most of that wealth will be concentrated at the hands of very few billionaires; the population will only have access to a small percentage of that wealth. I saw this analysis on Jeff Bezos' wealth the other day and immediately remembered this thread. You nailed it Cervantes. I'm glad that some of our non-US posters can see all the BS and inequality within America.

This remind me I need to clarify I'm not in favor of the killing of millions of people to preserve the humus for aliens, we are not guinea pigs.
Sometimes I speak ambiguously on other forums to inform people that wouldn't listen otherwise, but in reality I'm not in favor of Machiavellian ideologies. They are evil.
Killing large amounts of people is not acceptable no matter if it is done in a slow process manner over a long term period, and specially if it benefits only a few.
