I recently saw an interesting video on Youtube ranking all of the world's countries from poorest to richest. This is the one:
The United States clocked in at the #1 spot. This immediately had me scratching my head, since the US ranks far below many other first world countries when it comes to things like health care and public education. If this country is so unbelievably rich, then how come our government sees so little of the money?

The Federal government takes in $3 trillion in taxes every year. State and local governments take in an equal amount on top. Federal government spending alone adds up to $12,000 for every man, woman, and child in America annually.
A better question is, do you feel like you got your twelve thousand dollars worth?

It should be counted in BNP per citizen, not just the BNP alone. It tells us nothing of worth about the living conditions in those countries. Do you believe for one second normal people in China has a better living than those in Japan for instance?

As Balder said, looking at the wealth of the entire country tells nothing about its living conditions. You have to take into account that most of that wealth will be concentrated at the hands of very few billionaires; the population will only have access to a small percentage of that wealth. Also, in US' case, the government spends a LOT on things like the military (consider how the US is basically in a permanent state of war against some other country since... I don't know, probably since WW2), so just looking at how much money the government has also tells nothing about living conditions, as most of that money won't go towards the population itself.

Balder Cervantes Thanks for pointing that out guys. I overlooked those aspects. scipioafricanus More like "it belongs in the hands of the 1%". It's outright criminal that the billionares of the US can avoid paying so much of their taxes. At least some rich people like Bill Gates are able to point out the flaws of this country like this.

Bill Gates are able to point out the flaws of this country like this. I give credit to Bill Gates for thinking long term. He is reducing the population growth around the world through vaccines. He is doing it in a very machiavellistic manner, but he claims he is getting results. He claims he can wipe out terrorism without an army by using vaccines alone, preventing the troublesome areas in the Middle East to reproduce. So even if all you care about is national security, this is a very cheap and effective way to handle the situation. He also has been doing that for a while in Africa. He says he hires people to go to villages, ask for the women to bring their children, tell them that they need to vaccinate them, and that if they don't vaccinate the children, they will die. To measure the results he then proceeds to release measles to find out which children did not get the vaccine. It is easy to tell after that because the children that die of measles are the ones that did not get the vaccines. He says that even in just a matter of 15 years you can already tell the differences when rich kids of the world gets vaccines and when poor kids do. He says that after vaccines were able to eradicate smallpox the most important lesson was not that vaccines could eradicate other deseases, that is not important, what was important is to realize the power of vaccine programs to control population, and to control their growth. He claims that only less than 4% of the budget for these programs gets lost in the process, and that it is money well spend because what gets lost is insignificant in comparison to what these programs are archiving in terms of the depopulation of the planet.

Did you get that from a US source...? There is a little part on everyone's income tax form that allows you to pay more to the government. Bill Gates DOESN'T fill it out. Also be careful when politicians complain about people not paying "their fair share" and then carve out special tax exemptions for certain things. They might be a bit disingenuous. stratogustav If he wants to give measles to kids in order to kill them for people to learn a lesson... think about what that makes him. Reducing childhood death from preventable diseases with free vaccinations seems like a counterintuitive way of decreasing the surplus population. But I guess Bill Gates knows what he's doing...

It may sound counter-intuitive but it's actually not. I've studied demographics and history at college. A healthy and well educated population is the best cure for overpopulation. It's incredibly effective.

A healthy and well educated population is the best cure for overpopulation. It's incredibly effective. Bill simplifies it even further. A well vaccinated population is the best cure for overpopulation. This is why he said that preventing other diseases wasn't as significant as what the vaccination programs can accomplish. In another talk he claims he can eliminate 15% of the population in just a few years. That is powerful.

stratogustav Am I reading you wrong, or are you on board with what Gates is on about? You, me and everyone here are just as expendable. I'm all for careful and sustainable family management, but aren't we ALL useless animals in the eyes of the global elite?
