...where you are kicking yourself for letting an opportunity you've been waiting for, just slip by? Right now, it's like that U2 song "where you're stuck in a moment that you can't get out of." ARGH!
(I'd like to use the American version with Madden, but it's not showing up on the list)

centipede that song is pretty awesome. Definitely U2's best song. As for the topics; not buying a really cheap Dreamcast lot some months ago... Weren't thinking straight I guess.

I once passed up an Ebay auction of Giga Wing 2 that went for $6 dollars. On another occasion, I was in a thrift shop and came across a Nokia N-Gage that was only something like $10 dollars (I'm sure the N-Gage normally goes for much more than that, right?) which I also passed up, only to regret that decision and later discover the next day that someone had already bought it before me. Those are the only two that I can think of at the moment in terms of gaming.

cool topic man. With regard to game collecting, not really. I'm just thankful I have the disparate collection I do because otherwise I'd have invested an unreasonable amount into this hobby by comparison to my net income. With regard to life in high school and college, I used to be upset with myself all the time for not pulling more chicks and for losing an academic scholarship after my first year but in retrospect, I can be thankful I walked out with a degree and no STDs so there you go

I'm sure this happened to me before but I can't quite remember what it was about, so I haven't had the moment you described.

Just last week I missed an eBay auction which included semi pricey (10+) GameCube titles like F-Zero GX, Metroid Prime,a Resident Evil or 2 ect, as well as a few middle of the road games like Sonic Heroes and a few shovelware games for under 50. I guess it's my fault for not paying attention.

Not starting dating in high school when I had plenty of opportunities to do so. I swear me and a few girls that I knew would have been perfect matches for each other. Especially this one girl who I knew since I began school for the first time. Or the other girl who was a cheerleader and was single for pretty much all her high school years. She is now an intern at Eli lily. Oh what could have been.
Didn't at least try to become a foreign exchange student in japan when I was in high school. I don't think my grades were good enough to sadly. Now I have to get a job and come up with the money myself if I want to go there.

To keep embarrassment or disappointment from festering and turning into a tic or full-blown Tourette syndrome, confront your mistakes mentally, disassemble them, and study their components. Then you can discard it as a learning experience that didn't do any real damage to your health, status, or ego. That said, it can take years, or even decades to properly bury traumatic memories that won't stop popping up in the front of your mind at random.

The EB Games in my local mall was selling import Saturn games after Sega of America decided they were not supporting the system anymore. I was choosing between Radiant Silvergun and King Of Fighters 97. I went with KOF. Doh!

Its best to admit the mistake and move on with your life. Thinking about it everyday will eat your soul.

Trying NOT to think about it will do that, in my experience, but never talk about that with other people. Due to pending legislation, that's likely to get you declared a homicidal maniac.
