I do believe it had something to do with DirectX, a type of 3D renderer file commonly used on PCs.

Hmm, i was thinking of it recently as an acronym for the recent xbox one X. Abbreviated to XBOX.

I always debated of whether to use Xbox or XBOX. I like Xbox more, but everyone uses XBOX. It reminds me of Oppo players, people would write OPPO supposedly for symmetry purposes.

I'd be cool if it was an acronym about xenomorphs. The xenomorph would've made a good mascot for the Original Xbox; it's jet black, powerful, and oozes acidic green blood, just like the OG Xbox.
