More than 3 days since the big news and no topic for it ?? People who like classic games (ie people who come here) - SEGA's in particular - should be bursting out the champagne...! It would be remiss not to at least have some kind of announcement about it, even if I have to do it meself 3 days late...

I was stuck, thinking if I should create the topic here or in the Sega thread. Here it is, then!
It was a great announcement! Even on emulators, the games aren't quite right - plus, it seems Sega added a widescreen option and, according to the description on the Steam page, there will be new control options, which might be a very good thing if they can implement analog controls for Ryo (as far as I remember, you only use the analog to look around, and tank controls to walk around).
It seems they didn't mess with the textures or the models, I'm ok with that.

I had no idea whatsoever. This is great news. I always thought it was important for me to play the Shenmu games before jumping into Yakuza, even if they are not related at all. It just felt that way. This will give me the opportunity to do so.

This will give me the opportunity to do so. Eh, they aren’t really that similar, other than you can walk around a city and dick around in arcades. I wouldn’t put off playing Yakuza just to wait for Shenmue, unless you’re like Hank Hill and enjoy delaying gratification.

I was stuck, thinking if I should create the topic here or in the Sega thread. Here it is, then! Ha...! The slowness of the post was partly due to wondering about that too... but since the games themselves are going multiplatform... That and I was waiting for someone else to do it... I'm afraid whether or not that will be all they will be updating. Looks like other than the controls and slightly sharper texturing, not much else is getting improved. Hopefully they take some cues out of Yakuza for a modernized control scheme, as I don't think the controls will be remappable due to the heavy in-game story contextualized QTC use. But at least there'll be trophy support... And the very fact that it is here, both games in a bundle and at budget price makes it very hard to complain anyway...

I'm hoping Nintendo does a surprise reveal of a Switch release in the next Direct or E3.
