I mean, I honestly can't think of another PC game that literally won't run at all on modern OS without serious tinkering. Even crap like GTA IV I've heard will still run, albeit badly, on most rigs out of the box.
Are there other PC games like this?

Nah, almost every pc game from that time needs tinkering (remember we've had 4 different versions of Windows since then, so compatibility is certainly spotty) and, at least looking at its page on PC Gaming Wiki, Invisible War is far from being one of the worse ones in that regard - it seems just adding a small fan patch does the trick. I mean, don't you remember all your problems trying to run Far Cry? Some of these games just won't run unless you look for the patches created by some dedicated fans.

The problem with Far Cry not working for me was due to its DRM (I had the physical release), which isn't compatible with Windows 10; take that away and it works like it should. But I've heard that even the GOG version of Invisible War won't run at all without tinkering. It seems outright broken to me, which is a shame.
