I just watched a video from RetroManCave on YouTube, and he was using a web cache site called the the Wayback Machine.
Needless to say, this made me think about the old CGR website during its former glory. So, I looked it up. There it was with usable links and all. Feel free to browse with all of its glory.

All its glory is a bit generous, I'm afraid. I've used wayback machine a lot over the years and one thing it's great and very consistent at is giving this message: "Wayback Machine doesn't have that page archived."
So don't get your hopes up too high, it does an okay job with front pages and some select subpages, but if you try to browse the forum for example you won't probably won't get very far. At best it usually just delivers a shallow nostalgia trip wishing you could go deeper but never being able to do so.

MSNBC uses that site to rebut a lot of things politicians claim they never said or did. It's always been a bit inconvenient for me but if I did want to browse old reviews, that could be interesting.

It of course hasn't archived the whole site with every thread, but it's fun to look at and just read the headlines of the threads.

Well, I did click around quite a bit, and I was looking at some of our old dossiers. I'm sure everything isn't there, but I was pleased to see what I did.

By the way, I LOVE Retro Man Cave's documentaries. The videos on the computers of the Soviet Union and France were really interesting.

Digging around the old forums and I found this gem of a thread
"Ever dreamed about making out with yourself?"
It was created by some dude named Smash Bros Maestro
Wonder what happened to that guy...

What Wayback Machine reminded me of is the old site itself. Fucking slow as hell. FreeForums is such a smoother experience. Also weird seeing so many usernames I've forgot ever existed.

This is a remarkable discovery, if you guys can find the XP levels 26-29 we are missing, please let me know. Level 26 is Shadow Warrior, 29 is Samurai Jet Pilot. I found them while searching through archived pages of Imperial Khador's profile. There were no archives of his levels between these two unfortunately.

Yeah, some old faces from way back that never made the jump. Makes me feel all nostalgic and shit. There are a lot of people I remember that never migrated, but there are also so many that I cannot remember at all.

There are a lot of people I remember that never migrated, but there are also so many that I cannot remember at all. There was a point where the user base was pretty decent and things were really active, so there were a lot of peeps I don’t remember either. One thing I do remember was most of the people were pretty cool.
