I do definitely like those alternate box covers Nintendo has been putting up lately.

I did buy it but I'm in the middle of Xenoblade 2 so won't be starting it for some time.

As for Octopath Traveler, I love this throwback. I'm over 30 hours in, and I'm loving the nostalgia vibe I'm getting every time I do anything in the game.

Right now I'm in chapter 5 with over 80 hours on the clock. I'm not sure I love the game but I am enjoying my time with it. Some stuff annoys me like the map and lack of any help menu(too many mechanics to remember for such a long game to not have one).

The game was a bit slow at first, but it really picks up. As for the map, it was HORRIBLE in version 1.0, but since the updates, it has significantly been improved.

So I picked up Octopath Traveler yesterday, and have been continuing on from my prologue demo save. Currently have 6 of 8 heroes recruited.

So far, I'm loving all of the stories, except for Tresse's storyline. Her skills are great, but I could care less about her travels. Primrose's has surprised me the most thus far. I love her bloodlust for revenge.

Still enjoying it so far, particularly the music, but it is _very_ grindy. I did all the prologue chapters first, and still found my main character was about 5-8 levels lower than the recommended level for all the second chapters. I'm also finding it takes quite a while via mini-tales, combat and chests to find enough treasure to buy appropriate equipment for where I ask... That said, I've been taking the opportunity to explore. I've found the 8 main job shrines, and poked into quite a few areas in the world. I've also been playing a lot while listening to podcasts, and I always find that a good pairing with a grindy game

I've also been playing a lot while listening to podcasts, and I always find that a good pairing with a grindy game I just finished all the character's chapters, and I just got 3 of the specialty jobs. I have been avoiding fast travel, because I think it takes away from the exploration aspect. It is funny that you say the game is rather grindy. I haven't had to grind once like the older J-RPGs made me. I remember walking in circles for hours in FF6 in a forest just to fight dinosaurs to level up. The only character who was at level for the dungeons was Olberic. Maybe that's why I was OK?
