1 week heads-up! I tinkered around with this one but haven't committed to it. I'll give it a go soon!

Hadn't played Lode Runner in years... Gave it a try today and it's still a very addictive game! Went as far as Level 24 on my second try - excuse the shoddy score on the first, I was still remembering the game! Played it in Classic/Challenge Mode (the standard mode when you open teddykongcountry's link). Score: 204400

Played a bit more on the other modes, the even more challenging ones; I think the only real flaw I can point to the game is how the disappearing blocks are completely trial and error and feel very unfair (especially when they are specifically used to put the player in instant unwinnable situations). I don't remember if they are like this in the sequels/remakes, but in this one they are a major flaw, even more because the game has limited lives. Otherwise, Lode Runner is such a simple and well made puzzle game, really recommended.

This is definitely a game missing from my collection. I need to get a NES Classic and put this game in there.

Ok, my last crack at it. All the levels after 30 are a bitch! And getting to them is very time consuming. This time I went as far as 37, with a 333350 score.

Nice Cervantes! Don't think I'll get my score in on-time for this one but not sure I could have competed either! Will anyone be able to put a stop to his madness in time??

Maybe we could play this one when it comes out next time. I can't believe they're putting Lode Runner on the Atari 2600!

dschult3 - This looks so perfect that now I can't believe there never was an Atari 2600 Lode Runner. The game's mechanics and visuals fit very well into the console's library.

Atari Age uses the Melody board, which lets the programmer do a bit more than in the 70s and the 80s. That's why many of their new releases look like 8 bit computer games. I love it.

The kids were eating Cocoa Puffs before school today, an lo and behold: I doubt many kids of this generation will make the connection.
