Keystone Kapers is one of my favorite 2600 games. Apparently there was going to be a sequel, but it was never finished. According to a few posts I've read, the programmer is going to reprogram it for the 2600 with a different yet similar character and release it this year. I love modern retro gaming!

Is the sequel getting published by Activison as well? That's really interesting.

The original version was going to be published by them, but the unfinished version that was found still had the scrolling Activision logo within it. The completed version will be published by a company called "Tikivision."
I'm interested in this, because the newest games are far superior to the games of the past due to the newest achievements in coding for the Stella chip. Plus, games are as big as 32 K (I think some are up to 64 K now, but I'm not sure about that.) Keystone Kapers is one of my favorite games, so this looks like it could be fun.

Nice man. I love that classic consoles are still getting titles. For classic players like us there is no difference between old and new. They're just games and it is not nostalgia. We enjoy these games as if they were released today. This one is actually getting released today and it makes me happy there is a market for them.

I'm definitely going to get this when the Kickstarter comes out. They have 47 train cars made up so far, and it seems as though the game will be out by this fall. I can't believe I'm this excited about a new Atari 2600 game!

They just put together the art for a patch they are going to give out for high scores! I'm loving this project more and more by the day. The Atari patch era was a bit before my time, but I've always thought of it as a pretty cool idea.

This is a pretty good interview with Dan Kitchen. The guy has quite a history in the video game industry from when he started with the Atari 2600 as a programmer for the real Activision to now when he leads teams that make current gen games. As for the game, the Kickstarter was delayed to August because of COVID, so the game is going to come out around Christmas. The new footage looks a hell of a lot of fun. I'll be getting one, that's for sure!
