Resident Evil
OoOOooOooOhhhh!
Ok, so this the topic to discuss Biohazard/RE stuff, including spoilers and whatever, just make sure you mark spoilers if you want to discuss story in depth. That or we could mark it in the topic title if the spoilers get out of hand. And I'll just begin with one spoiler question: Can anyone clarify to me if Mr. Vester is actually HUNK and has always been him? That's something so out of nowhere that even though the game is called Revelaitons it's hard to believe.

Voted for Rebecca and Billy, I really enjoyed them in 0 and I'll be keeping an eye out for the HD version for 360 in the future, since I already have it on GameCube I don't feel like paying much for an HD version of virtually the same game.
I must say, as a huge fan of Outbreak File #2 and Dead Aim, they have some of my favorite characters in the series, Rebecca and Billy are my favorites in the main series though.

There's a limited amount of choices you can add to the poll (which happens to be the exact number of characters you see there) so I had to omit a bunch of people. I knew Outbreak has a bunch of characters and I just didn't check characters from other spin-offs that aren't very recent, so the only spin-off characters in this poll are from Operation Racoon City. I assumed more of us would enjoy those characters because of their design and time since they were introduced. For some notable omissions there are The Tofu, Cipher, the 3 mercenaries from RE3, Agent and Ustanak from RE6. Due to lack of space I preferred to include better developed characters with one exception. As some may notice HUNK was included twice, and that is solely because his covert name is so much more prominent than his real name I thought it would be better for nostalgic people to recognize him under his codename. I didn't give Lady Hunk the same privilege because she also has her identity in this pool already and in her first appearance she was an alternate skin for HUNK. Maybe it's a flaw to include HUNK since I had to omit Cipher, but I doubt people would name Cipher or Tofu since both of them are only "known" to "villain" characters who never mention them.

The HD version of RE0 actually has an additional story mode called Wesker Mode, and the Leach Hunter mode, so you're definitely paying less for more. Chose Rebecca and Wesker, because who doesn't like Wesker and Rebecca? Playing through Revelations now, i would chose Raymond, but he doesn't get much screentime.

I know, but I won't be touching those modes, I don't like Wesker and Leach Hunter doesn't interest me. To me it's the same game with better shadows and lighting as the HD doesn't do much either when played on an SDTV.

Oh but that video isn't even there! The thing about the first Revelations is that they had a beefy cast of characters, many new creature designs and a fresh idea, and to make a good game you don't even need all of that. All they had to do was make sure gameplay was good and it's fine now. Kinda funny that so many think Revelations 2 is better in everything even though the only big thing it has over it is the campaign tinkering we can do.
So, I tried the Weekend Survivor 14 challenge. Holy crap! That's only for people who really, really overpowered their character. Just being lvl. 100 and owning lvl. 100 gear isn't enough.

I voted for Jill and Billy. Jill because she seems to be the only snart member of Alpha team and Billy because he and Rebbeca share some of the best chemestry in the series, as in they are pretty much the only ones that know how to work as a team. And I join the Weker hater club, sue me he just screams cartoonish evil to me. Come to think of it screw every RE villain with the probable exception of Birkin and Ashford seem to have any rhyme or reason behind their actions other than "Let's fill the world with zombies and then take it over, somehow" Why can't I choose Wesker twice? You can, check the poll again <.<

By the way if we ever make an antagonist list can we name Forest Speyer the best character ever?
He's clearly the most obvious choice.

fsfsxiiOh so you have a channel too. Cool! GuilionWith a reasoning like that I can't oppose you. One big issue with the Resident Evil series is that very few antagonists have non-psychotic motivations, and even fewer never become big dumb monsters. It's even ironic to me now because the first Resident Evil game I owned is Revelations, then I went back and got RE4, 5, 6, and Revelations 2, and wow! With exception of Excella, all the antagonists are nutjobs! And all of them turned into big dumb monsters too. Why can't I choose Wesker twice? You can, check the poll again <.< No, you can't. Read the poll description.
