By now I've played most of Resident Evil 6 already. In my latest session I finished Jake and Sherry's campaign. You know, RE6 makes me feel uncomfortable, though not exactly because of the shitty moments. I can tell you guys that Jake/Sherry's campaign sucks a lot, but without having played it most people can't possibly understand what I'm talking about. That game is generally bashed for a variety of (non) reasons, but my issue with it is that I clearly remember how RE6 is still far from being the worst AAA game I've played, or even the worst AAA shooter I've played; also, my lack of comfort lies in its annoying tendency to not present me a Game Over screen due to failure in defeating creatures, but due to QTE and non-combat focused encounters, the latter being pretty much what RE0 is about (I've been watching it). Yeah, my issue IS how this isn't straigth up a bad game. So, whenever I say that RE6 has problems I'm not really defending the traditional RE fan's point of view that any RE game is bad because it came after 3 or 4 (varies depending on fan's serial number).
But damn! How they managed to pick Jack Badass Coolman, Supergirl Sherry and that awesome Ustanak and insert them in some of the most boring situations in RE history is beyond me. It could be considered an achievement in bad game design.

It seems like RE6 was made in 6 months lol Jake''s (Jake is somewhat the video game version of Teen Wolf) campaign i never even bothered to finish, made it to china when the "oooooh lets sex up sherry, you know? The little girl you rescued in RE2" and stopped there. Don't even get me started on the QTEs. My biggest problem with the game is not QTEs, story or even the gameplay. Have you not noticed that, for a shooter, that ammo is scarce? I barely finished Chris' campaign because half the time i had no ammo.

Actually I had a good amount of ammo by the end. The last boss fights did get a bit tough on ammo before you know how to get them good, but nothing too troublesome. Piers turned into a crazy awesome BOW so when I ran out of bullets I just knife'd the big guy and the stupid last QTE segment of Chris's campaign began.
I wish RE6 wasn't such an attempt to cash in on fads of 2000's like God of War and military shooters. Chris and Piers's campaign was just a military shooter: gameplay was good but the story was nothing.
Well, lets hope Jake returns so he can keep showing us his awesome fighting moves!

Its like his Evil twin or something... What if Donovan is actually Wesker? The plot thickens.

This post contains SPOILERS! Funny thing about Resident Evil that it actually shares a lot with many other franchises, but I'm not talking about "accidents". Somehow Jake and Rig's design, background and partners matched, and because of the release date of both I think it's very hard for one of them to have copied unless of course their development teams shared data in some form; at least voice actors were different, I guess. Kind of what happened to Rusty.
I think that my favorite case of expy related to RE happened in RE5 due to a Jill's design and role in that game, being both one awesome plague doctor-looking spy and revealing herself to be brainwashed, wearing a blue variation of Nina's suit, and having had her skin and hair turn caucasian-like, which pretty much turned her into the original fighting blondie Sarah, complete with killer moves. Seriously, that game has got the best cast of RE, specially after they inserted Barry there. Of course that I do appreciate the alternate company equivalent characters in the House of the Dead games. That series has got better creature design in general so it's a bonus for it. Another interesting thing is that Sheva wouldn't really remind anyone of any other character specifically, but after they had her voice actress voice Helena and give Sheva some costumes that slightly remind me of her... Well, let's just say that to me RE5 is that game in which I distinctly remember Helena fighting against Sarah Bryant.

So, I decided to dive into Resident Evil 6 again to finish the story, you can't blame me for taking a break after that terribad level with invincible zombies with Jake and Sherry, can you?
As soon as I started the fourth campaign in the game I was struck by Ada Wong's design. I mean, I knew her design because she showed up in 2 other campaigns before, but geez, guys! How did they manage to develop such an unbeliavable woman? I say that because fantasy media often depicts characters that can't exist, but still look "grounded" in the real world... As in, depending on how cynical/sarcastic you are plenty of people may remind you of kobolds (that gross, thieving, rat-folk), ogres or witches, but I simply don't ever expect to meet an Ada Wong out there.

I could not finish Jake's campaign, but i do know some plot points from Ada's story, so i wonder how that will evolve in RE7.

I voted on Rebecca. She is cute. And in RE1 she is a better companion than Barry, being playable and all.

I can definitely understand someone not being able to sit through Sherry's campaign. Btw, I wonder what is the strongest plot point right now... Because the impact Revelations 2 has in the background story of the series was heavy.
Btw, NOOOOO! Barry is awesome! I don't know why everyone loves Rebecca so much. At least in this site she's the favorite.

Anyone else agrees that RE1's voice acting deserves an award? Its the absolute best comedy out there. I sometimes like to use some quotes from that game like "Stop! Don't open that door" and "Here's a gun, its really powerful, especially against living things" and laugh like a maniac. It seems that RE1 is a masterpiece in its original and remade form.
