I brought this up on the old forum, but this new development is unreal. Why does this development team continue to act like snake oil salesmen? If this story was on a TV show, the majority of people would turn it off due to its lack of realism.

Damn you beat me to this thread. So... they fixed the price at least. From 350 to 150 is a huge difference. But there are still no killer apps or any other reason to get this. And the name change was genius. Have to give credit where credits due.

I really liked the idea of the system, but I have no faith in this anymore or the people making it. This needs to die.

Talk about a strange turn of events. This entire thing looks so scammy.

I feel sorry for the guys creating this. Spending money on Jaguar shells for no use.

Balder - Hey, they can always sell them to dentists! I think they may have also spent some extra money on the license to use the Coleco name.

That was a repetitive and unnecessarily long rant in that video-- more than 30 minutes just to say that it's a scam. I can see ignorant people being stupid enough to fund something like this and a company being immoral enough to rip them off...but what I can't understand is why so many nitpick the Retron5 (which does what it said it would) yet waste even a moment discussing this. This thing makes Hyperkin's consoles look like masterworks of engineering by comparison.
Want an better way to play a lot of old cartridges on one console? Step 1. Buy a SNES. Step 2. Buy the following adapters in whatever order you wish: Retroport, Retrogen, Super Game Boy (preferably the SGB 2), Super Retro Advance and a Sega Power Base Converter. Step 3. Have fun.

Cervantes very good reference. For the prices they are selling their additional games I could buy brand new games or even CIB Vectrex games for less than that.

Hmmm, it seems they haven't learnt their lesson... (i.e that it's simply an unappealing concept to begin with) Although... I suppose they do get some points for persistence.
However, trying to capitalize on the Coleco name is at least questionable if not a downright disagreeable deal killer right there...

I think this guys is trying to get something out there just to save face. He'd be best off finding Atari flashback 2s and modding the cart slot onto them.

I understand that there a bunch of nostalic people out there who would love to buy retro consoles, and CGR fans are very likely to do that, but I wonder if they couldn't just emulate old games on PC... You can always get a comfortable set-up that lets you forget the picture is coming from a high-tech computer.

You can always get a comfortable set-up that lets you forget the picture is coming from a high-tech computer. Have you ever been on the AtariAge Facebook page? Them guys dont like no emulation. Personally, I fully agree with you, heck, my 8/16 bit (and some 32 bit too) games are all played on a soft modded Wii which cost me £20. It's a really nice idea, it really is. The price is out of my range, and I'd buy a Wii U or 2600 with a Harmony cart for that price, but it is a nice idea. It's just a shame the guy seems to be after them dollars. It was dubious from the start with the Retro VGS and it's getting worse and worse with every development these guys "make".
