As I came back from vacation I started remember the first game I beat which was Super Mario World for the SNES, then as a result I gain confidence and I started beating games one after the other:
- F-Zero
- Contra III The Alien Wars
- Super Castlevania IV
- Battletoads & Double Dragon
- Mega Man X
- Mega Man X2
- Mega Man X3
- Double Dragon V
- The Adventures Of Batman & Robin
- Batman Returns
- RoboCop Versus Terminator
- Mario Is Missing
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV Turtles In Time
- RoboCop 3
- Imperium
- You name it.
I had so much fun. What surprises me is that I still had time to go to school, come back home, make my homework, watch Knights Of The Zodiac, Ranma 1/2, Dragon Ball, Power Rangers, and even play soccer outside with my neighbors. Looking back I don't know how I managed.

Super Mario Brothers 1. There was a competition in my family, and I was the first to beat it. It was the proudest moment of my 7 year old life up to that point.

I think im the only one that is still playing games in my family. All of my cousins and friends pretty much dropped out.

That is really cool. I was like 4 the first time I played Super Mario Bros. 1, the game was old already at that time but my neighbor had it, so I used to go to his house to play it, so I never had the time to get good enough to beat it. I had another neighbor that had the NES TMNT games, so I played those as well, but again I never had enough time to beat them since I didn't own them. The same thing goes for the NES versions of Battletoads, Ninja Gaiden, Double Dragon, Contra, and Castlevania. We used to play Duck Hunt too. Fun times for sure.

Man, this question is hard, as my first console was an Atari 2600 and I don't know if any of my games had an actual ending or if all of them just looped.
My first memory of a game "ending" comes from either Ducktales or Mega Man 3, but I'll place my bet on Ducktales. Awesome game. I was 6 at the time.

The first Super Mario Brothers of course. I think people nowadays forget or just don't realize how revolutionary that game was when it was released compared to what came before. As Cervantes has mentioned, most arcade and Atari games just looped the same levels over and over with a high score being the ultimate objective. SMB popularized not only the concept of a variety of level environments and enemies but powerups and end-level 'bosses.' We take all of these elements for granted now of course.

I think SMB1 was also the first game I completed. Before that, I had a 2600, but those were mostly arcade-style games and so didn't really end.

My aunt bought me my first Chicago style stuffed pizza for beating it first. We took a Polaroid picture to remember the moment. I was holding up my controller with the end screen on the TV in the background. I remember that was the only way to prove if you beat a game back then. It is a pretty darn cool memory, if you ask me.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2.
You know how Atari 2600 games repeat themselves at progressively higher difficulties after you beat the first few levels? Does beating them at the first difficulty level count as finishing them? Then it'd probably be Jungle Hunt.

Yeah I was always wondered if games of that era have some kind of closure. For example people said Donkey Kong goes to level 22. But I have the 3DS version and it has a bunch of made up levels. Like right now I'm at level that is like a ladder with a line on the bottom. It is so frustrating because I can't find out online when does it end. I just want to get to the dead screen of level 22 already and get it done and feel that I finished it.
