JFK is black and Elvis lives.
Bruce Campbell plays it to perfection.

Besides the crazy premise for the movie, Bruce delivers a very convincing performance - he nails down the character perfectly in a way that works both as an old, worn-down and discredited Elvis, and as a random impersonator who truly believes he is the king himself.
The drama/comedy/horror mixture is well balanced and it's not everyday that we get to see a good horror movie with a mummy as the villain. Solid 5 to me, really enjoyed it.

It's been sometimes since there has been a movie that I haven't seen and that I can watch somewhere. Sorry if my review disappoints someone here (that someone definitely being cobretti). I enjoyed it, keep that in mind though. "An okay-ish movie that had the potential of being really awesome. Sometimes, really big movies with a huge budgets are not the best thing as they tend to not be creative enough. In Bubba Ho-Tep it is sort of the other way around. The budget was so small that they could not fulfill their main idea, that idea being Elvis. Bruce Campbell sort of looks like Elvis, and the movie tells me it is Elvis, but what does he really do? He says "Thank you, thank you very much" and refers to himself as The King a couple of times, and that is pretty much it. No licensed music or movie clips from his career. He does not do anything that really resembles his icon except from those two phrases. Kind of sad really. They have some awesome ideas like Elvis teaming up with a Black John F. Kennedy (who has been dyed to be Black). It is quite funny, but I wanted a little more. This has been a fairly negative review, but it is worth watching once just for the ridiculous idea of Elvis not really dying and teaming up with Black JFK to fight a mummy at a rest institution." 2.5/5

Also so worth noting, Don Coscarelli, the director of this movie, also directed Beastmaster.
