According to People Magazine, the following lists the favorite candies of each American State: Alabama – Candy Corn Alaska – Twix Arizona – Snickers Arkansas – Jolly Ranchers California – M&Ms Colorado – Milky Way Connecticut – Almond Joy Delaware – Life Savers Florida – Skittles Georgia – Swedish Fish Hawaii – Skittles Idaho – Candy Corn Illinois – Sour Patch Kids Indiana – Hot Tamales Iowa – Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Kansas – Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Kentucky – Tootsie Pops Louisiana – Lemonheads Maine – Sour Patch Kids Maryland – Milky Way Massachusetts – Sour Patch Kids Michigan – Candy Corn Minnesota – Tootsie Pops Mississippi – 3 Musketeers Missouri – Milky Way Montana – Double Bubble Gum Nebraska – Sour Patch Kids Nevada – Hershey Kisses New Hampshire – Snickers New Jersey – Skittles New Mexico – Candy Corn New York – Sour Patch Kids North Carolina – M&M’s North Dakota -Hot Tamales Ohio – Blow Pops Oklahoma – Snickers Oregon – Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Pennsylvania – M&M’s Rhode Island – Candy Corn South Carolina – Candy Corn South Dakota – Starburst Tennessee – Tootsie Pops Texas – Starburst Utah – Jolly Ranchers Vermont – Milky Way
I am personally embarrassed by the choices of my home state of Illinois. That stuff is nasty.
What do you all think of this list? As for our friends from other countries, what are the favorites from your corner of the world? Due to my past life in the Marine Corps, I have traveled to a great deal of countries. The first thing I did when I entered was try out the local food and drink scene, and I'm really curious about your responses.

I like Kit Kats too, and Crunch. I never heard of Candy Corn, and Rhode Island is where I graduated High School from.

I used to like candy corn as a kid, not so much now. What's more troubling is that there's an entire state of people out there who like Swedish Fish.

That is an insane price for a Butterfinger. How much do Ritter Sport chocolate bars go there now a days? Here in the states, they're $2.50 or more, and I remember them going for ~$1 in Europe a while ago.

Candy corn, really? Is this a joke? You might as well just eat shit you find on the sidewalk.
Best candy? Freia's Milk Chocolate or Jacob's Chocolate Truffles. Snickers is pretty damn good too.

If there's a Scandinavian specialty store somewhere over there, I'm sure they've got it. Otherwise I'm not too sure how easy it's to come by in far away countries like America. I'll bring some though if I get the opportunity to come there.

Most of this stuff is either made of palm oil or dairy. Glad I don't eat it. Nobody should support this stuff.

Even candies that don't contain palm oil, dairy, or cocoa I don't eat because I don't want to become dependent on an unsustainable industry. I do like nature's candies, though; honey, maple syrup and fruit. I usually don't buy those either because they're rather pricey, though.
