Oh man... With the recent news about Stan Lee's struggles with his family, this is especially sad. Concidentally, just yesterday I was finally watching Logan and thinking about how great the X-Men characters are in some of their iterations (the film is really good, by the way); it's probably my favorite of Lee's creations.

Shit I didn't know Stan Lee died, I heard about all the terrible stuff he was going through recently. Also, wasn't familiar with the Mario Segale story until now.
I hope both of these guys can rest in peace.

Even as a DC guy, you got to respect Stan Lee. X Men was cool. He and Kirby set the standard. Anything less than that is mediocre. I would have loved to have met Lee.

Everyone is talking about this. I'm just glad he got to see in life how his creations became immortal, and part of the culture. Good point. That he got to see how big of an impact his creations had on other people's lives is a rare thing. To be remembered when you're gone is pretty meaningless. But to be an icon in your own life is special. He lived a good one. |
