This week I want to discuss the life of a white bigoted zealot named John Allen Chau, an american missionary who was killed last week by the indigenous people of North Sentinel Island, a remote and highly restricted island in the sea of Bengal some distance off the coast of India, after trespassing there in an attempt to convert them to christianity.
A religious organization based in america funded his trip to the island. Due to the fact that the sentinelese have no immunity to diseases, his contact with them has put their entire population at risk of extinction.
What are your thoughts on this? Did anyone else read about this in the news?

As I've told you before Maestro, these threads aren't really for discussing. It's just you blowing steam off at some poor people. Do you have any joy in life? Because it seems to me that you've been acting extremely hateful and condescending lately. To me this isn't really you. Sure you've had some strong opinions, but seriously dude look at what you're posting now, basically celebrating a man being killed. Try to find out what's bothering you and please try to stay a little bit more positive, because being like this is not healthy at all.

These door to door preachers always come at the worst possible time. How much do you wanna bet that the Sentinelese were right in the middle of eating dinner or a spirited workout? Probably pretty likely. My advice to them is to invest in one of these "No Solicitation" signs for their front door. I picked one up at Home Depot a little over a year ago and I haven't had to murder a Jehovah's Witness since.

I, myself, have been shooting arrows at Jehova's Witnesses with an alarming frequency, so a "No Solicitation" sign should be cheaper. |

In my OP I ask "What are your thoughts on this? Did anyone else read about this in the news?" and my poll encourages discussion as well. This was an important issue that could happen again. Quit bitching. EDIT: Also, I am not celebrating his death, that would directly contradict your former claim that I'm just "blowing off steam". I am genuinely enraged by his actions much more so than I am pleased by his death. His actions ARE what's bothering me, which is why I brought this issue to the pub's attention! |

What bothers me about this story is, yeah, this guy should have left these people well enough alone and I’m not going to strum up fake sympathy for an idiot doing idiotic stuff, but a lot of people are shitting on this guy only because he’s a Christian, like that enough is reason to kill him or something. I find the reaction to the religious aspect kind of disgusting. It reminds me of the kid the North Korea sent back as a living corpse because he tried to steal a propaganda poster. A lot of people were dancing on his grave because he was a white kid. It’s pretty sick. |
