As a Xenoblade-aholic, I love everything Xenoblade related. So, to my utter joy, I have recently discovered that Skye Bennett, the voice actor of both Pyra and Mythra in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Torna: The Golden Country, decided to stream herself playing these games. She had an idea as to what the game was about, but she wanted to see the games play out as a whole since all of the voice actors were never in the same room together reading their lines. Her stream for the base game was really cool, and when she finished 2, she was really emotional at the outcome of the game. Now she is currently going through Torna.
This is out of the norm in my eyes. I thought most of these voice actors were up and comers in the movie industry, so they probably didn't have a connection to the game. I'm not in the know on everything video game related these days, so are there other voice actors doing the same thing?

I seem to remember that David Hayter has played several of the Metal Gear Solid games. I believe I had seen a story about Stefanie Joosten (Pain's likeness, mocap and voice actor from MGSV) streaming a playthrough of MGSV.
I think Mark Meer (Male Commander Shepard) has played through the Mass Effect games, and I believe he has cosplayed as Commander Shepard as well.

David Hayter, Solid Snake's voice actor, is well-known for playing most Metal Gear games (at least all the ones he dubbed) and being a huge fan of the series. So much that he was responsible for personally convincing the MGS1 voice actors to remake their parts for Twin Snakes - if I'm remembering right, he even took a huge cut on his salary so the game could use the same actors. Also, here is Quiet's actress (Stefanie Joosten) playing MGS V: (By the way, I think this thread should be moved to the general game discussion!) EDIT: Imperial Khador beat me to it!

I think if I was a voice actor, I would be generally intrigued by the end product. Do you know if they liked the games?

Still about Joosten, she has a Let's Play channel and here is a video of her actual playthrough of the game:

I remember the Japanese voice actor of Sonic uploaded a clip of him playing one of the newer Sonic games.
I also found a little lets play series from a guy named Lucas Gilbertson, who used to be the voice actor for Zero from Megaman X (not X4). He was playing X8, which was one of the games he had a role in.

Not a voice actor in any games, mind you, but it warms my heart to remember that John Carpenter is a huge Sonic fan. And not just in a "played the games in the 90s" way; he's still playing them, up to Sonic Mania.

Nolan North and Troy Baker have. They also play some random old school games as well.

I would wager that Matthew Mercer has. He's a big pen and paper/D&D/boardgame geek, and that usually translates to a video game fan as well.

scipioafricanus Those guys could play any game released in the past 10 years and odds are they had a voice role in it.

I like the medieval theatre voice over Lament Of Innocence, and Curse Of Darkness on the American versions. It literally sounds like theater stuff from a play, but I'm usually not familiar with their names. The guy from God Of War is also cool, and the narrator on the Mortal Kombat games too.

Another one: Vin Diesel, who is a huge nerd. He not only voiced Riddick in the awesome Escape from Butcher Bay / Assault on Dark Athena games, he founded the company that developed them just so he could be sure that the games would be really good (they are). So he definitely voiced/produced/played the games.

This is all really good to hear, guys. I'm glad some of the voice actors really appreciate the craft. I wonder if that helps them get future roles in the business.
