The Biweekly TV-Series Discussion: Trailer Park Boys

Never seen it, but I have heard good things.

I first discovered this show by walking in on my brother watching it. At first I thought it was a bit low brow and forced. But after watching the episode "That's the way she goes", I was converted. Once you just "get" this show, it starts to become hilarious. The first season isn't the best, but once you get through it you should know if you like or not. My favorite type of humor is really strong personalities, and this show has it in spades. Ricky is one of the funniest characters ever made. So much of the humor and jokes are improvised, and they come off as genuine. Seasons 1-7 are comedy gold, with perhaps season 6 or 5 being the pinnacle. After season 7, the show had a hiatus for many years before the creator sold the rights to the main actors and they got a deal with Netflix to distribute it. The newer seasons are sort of mixed. Some are great and some are downright bad. The last season, was fantastic though, but unfortunately the main villain actor of the show died shortly after filming, and nobody knows where the show's heading. To me they could just end it here, a nice finale and going on without one of cornerstone characters won't work. RIP Mr. Lahey, you were indeed the liquor.
