Recently got a hold of the elusive Return to Dream Land:
Captivating experience to say the least! I had no problems with it other than the price tab but it's certainly one of the strongest titles I've played for the console. Any of you guys out there play it?

Hmm... 50 bucks doesn't sound like that much... Nintendo games in general are more expensive than all other games where I live, so if I tried to get that specific game here I think we would be talking about a bigger value in comparison to what we earn and what games on other platforms cost.

It looks really good, but I already own Kirby 64, which is my favorite Kirby game, so I think I'm good. I'm not interested in shelling out a small fortune just to play another Kirby game.

spidershinobi - this is a Kirby title we are talking about but I suppose it's good Nintendo threw it on the Wii U shop. However, how many games on the 360 and PS3 still command that 50 dollar tab? I did notice a copy of Bomberman 2 on the N64 retailing at 200 dollars through the Game Stop website though. Talk about sheisty! MeleeMonk - considering as you are a smash fan, I think this may be your go-to Kirby game: it's a perfect fusion of the two and is undeniably related to some kind of Sakurai vision so I wouldn't call it "just another Kirby game."

I guess you don't know about how rates do in other parts of the world, but dollars have gotten a bit expensive, so games aren't actually being sold at the exact equivalent of 60 or 50 dollars at the moment, except Nintendo games. I see them converting exactly to what 50 dollars are right now, which might be a coincidence; I can't tell if they weren't priced much higher than Ps3/Xbox ones since years ago.

teddykongcountry but the price tag tho.... I would buy Kirby's Epic Yarn (which is cheaper), but from what I've seen the character animations are too obviously digital for it to successfully pull off a "traditional art" look. Yoshi's Wooly World seems to have gotten it right, but I'm not about to buy a system just for one game.

spidershinobi - I guess the point is that this is a game that probably wasn't slept on at all and probably was cheaper to get 1 - 2 years after its release. It also got a reprint recently which is why it's showing up at Game Stops so by all reasoning, it shouldn't be such a wallet drain but then again, most of the Wii titles shouldn't. MeleeMonk - If you consider yourself a Kirby fan and already have a Wii, you should really try it. The price tab is intimidating but just sell it for the same value after you beat it. You can get it around 40 bucks on ebay. I'm hesitant to try Epic Yarn myself and even Wooly World I hear is mostly style over substance.

teddykongcountry I just checked wikipedia and you're right, it seems that there were several complaints from reviewers about Wooly World being forgettable and half baked, or something like that. But I'd be more than willing to overlook those flaws and just enjoy it for its visuals alone. It's Rare to see a modern Nintendo game with art direction that's this good. I found the art direction of the recent Fire Emblem and LoZ games to be either a serious downgrade or a big step in the wrong direction, or both.

It's a good game, anyone who likes Kirby would enjoy it.
