Remember when people wanted the Virtual Console to be on Xbox Live and PSN? Well, if the mountain doesn't come to fsfsxii then fsfsxii goes to the mountain. Now you will be able to play Halo, and Mario on the same platform. It makes sense considering the Wii U was already more powerful than the 360, and the Switch is more powerful than the Wii U, which means at least those games should be able to run. In fact, In Japan they already run Resident Evil VII, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey on the Switch through streaming, so I can see this working for Microsoft as well.

I thought it was just the Switch for a moment, but it's going to android and IOS as well, so it makes a bit more sense. It's still pretty crazy though, maybe Microsoft is losing faith in their console business?

It's still pretty crazy though, maybe Microsoft is losing faith in their console business? I have always wondered if Microsoft was interested in a joint venture for a future console. The red ring of death really hurt their bottom line in the last generation. Microsoft has never done well in the hardware department, and it seems strange to me that they are in the video game market. I have a Surface Pro and a Microsoft Windows phone, and I love them. However, no one else does. Their software rules the Earth (although many are moving to Google Suites because it is free.), so I don't see why they wouldn't get out of the hardware business and stick with software. |

The only issue with this is that next gen AAA games will probably be "stream only" for the Switch, having Microsoft bringing "the power" of their cloud, so a crappy Internet connection is not going to fly for these games.

I don't believe so, if anything they're double downing on the next generation with all the game studios they've created and bought.

For me all this means is Killer Instinct on the Switch. I couldn't be happier. It was just a matter of time before Rare came back home.
