I actually don't mind the of the stick. But really to me even with a nice build, being $250 and not not having as many games as the SNES Classic is a pretty big detractor.
It should have been 60 games:
- 1944 The Loop Master
- 19XX The War Against Destiny
- Alien Vs. Predator
- Armored Warriors
- Battle Circuit
- Cadillacs And Dinosaurs
- Cannon Spike
- Capcom Fighting Evolution
- Capcom Sports Club
- Capcom Vs. SNK
- Capcom Vs. SNK 2
- Captain Commando
- Carrier Air Wing
- Cyberbots Full Metal Madness
- Darkstalkers
- Darkstalkers 3
- Dungeons & Dragons Shadow Over Mystara
- Dungeon s & Dragons Tower Of Doom
- Dimahoo
- Eco Fighters
- Final Fight
- Final Fight Revenge
- Ghouls ‘n Ghosts
- Giga Wing
- Giga Wing 2
- Hyper Street Fighter II
- JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
- King Of Dragons
- Knights Of The Round
- Magic Sword
- Mars Matrix
- Marvel Super Heroes
- Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel Vs. Capcom
- Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
- Mega Man The Power Battle
- Mega Man 2 The Power Fighters
- Night Warriors
- Plasma Sword
- Power Stone
- Power Stone 2
- Progear
- Project Justice
- The Punisher
- Red Earth
- Rival Schools
- Star Gladiator
- Street Fighter Alpha
- Street Fighter Alpha 2
- Street Fighter Alpha 3
- Street Fighter III 3rd Strike
- Strider
- Strider 2
- Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix
- Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
- Tech Romancer
- U.N. Squadron
- Warriors Of Fate
- X-Men Children Of The Atom
- X-Men Vs. Street Fighter
..., and if they really wanted to kill, they would have included Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, and Fate/Unlimited Codes.
I feel the big appeal of this is that after all it is a dedicated arcade system for Capcom.
If you think about it, the reason why SNK has such a big following base is not just because they had great games, but because they also had a proprietary system, the Neo Geo MVS, displaying all their excellent titles during a 15 years lifespan in the arcades.
This is an opportunity for Capcom to have the same thing, and just as many people like to collect all Neo Geo titles into one cabinet, this could allow fans to build a DIY cabinet dedicated to Capcom that can be placed right next to the Neo Geo, and finally have a proper Capcom Vs. SNK setup in the comfort of the house.
That is something that can already be done with something as cheap as the Rasberry Pi 3, but having a properly lincesed release, that is as easy to setup as any other plug & play, is a bigger excuse to do so.
For people that grew up in the 90s, we can quickly realize all of those games were some of the greatest hits at the arcades, and that's why we still have such a heavy nostalgia for each of them.
Of course Namco, Sega, and Konami had a lot of heavy hitters too, but the Capcom ones always took the main stage in all the very crowded arcades at the time, and having a single platform for them is quite the big deal.
