I'm not here to rag on top ten videos, at least not yet. I'm hear to bring up the ethics of major YouTube channels using content of other content creators. WatchMojo especially is notorious for using Mark's footage without permission. Hell, they did it again just a few hours ago.![]()
And it isn't just Mark whose been effective. A satirical short story I wrote has been read by a million plus Youtuber to the tune of half a million views. at least that person was nice of enough to give me credit for writing it, but nothing more than that. Just a short while ago a top ten channel used images that I took of a children's book that I had as a kid. I don't really care about the latter, since it wasn't my art, but it just seems strange how things go around.
I guess this goes back to the whole idea of fair use, but where do you all stand on this issue?
