No Scart here in the US. Is the jump from Scart to HDMI a big deal? I'm in the dark on that one. SCART was designed for analog signals and HDMI is designed for digital ones. I have seen CMVSs modded for HDMI, but of course you don't get a "true" HD image and the analog to digital conversion introduces slight lag. SCART can carry HD video, just like our component cables or VGA in the States, but it wasn't designed for it. Still, the RGB output is way better than composite, in color and clarity, and it even makes our S-video look washed out in comparison. Thanks for the summary. It makes more sense than what I have seen on the internet so far. I have watched comparison videos on You Tube, and I really do not see much of a difference. I'm sure the change is drastic in person, but You Tube doesn't do it justice. |

dschult3 The difference between RGB SCART and composite is very dramatic in person, and imo so is the difference between SCART and S-Video. Some guys in the US get a RGB monitor and play their old games in "full color" for the first time and find that they don't like it. It's so much more vibrant and clear than through composite that it doesn't look the way they remembered it as a kid. Nostalgia, I guess.

Shock Troopers looks awesome, but is expensive. KOF is usually one of the cheaper franchises due to there being so many of them. Yeah, KOF cartidges shouldn't be too bad, probably around $50 each, which is a lot better than paying almost $300 for something like Garou. |

dschult3 I saw that video too earlier today. Didn't see the appeal and the graphics were a little underwhelming for a Neo-Geo game.
