I ended up buying a MVS after all. Now I just got to get controllers and some games. Expensive startup price, but much better than buying an AES. I hope you got a good deal and you enjoy the CMVS! Read up on spotting fake carts. They're everywhere...It was under 300 bucks including shipping, which ain't too bad for eBay. I'm trying to win a couple of joysticks now. As for fake cartridges, would auctions with pictures of the insides be trustworthy? |

I would like to get a CRT at some point in the future, but right now it would take up too much space. And besides, they're extremely unpractical and heavy. The good news is, PAL CRTs are usually made to display an RGB image. It looks way better. |

I'll try to throw up some links for what signs to look for in bootlegs later if you want. I just read a very comprehensive blog about it. It seems like most bootlegs don't have the SNK logo on the board. And after browsing through eBay, all boards that were missing that logo looked very cheaply made. |

I was contacted again by the Craig's list seller telling me I should have got my Neo-Geo with the UniBIOS mod. Now I did not think this was necessary, and this seller might just want me to regret my purchase, but is it really necessary?

I was contacted again by the Craig's list seller telling me I should have got my Neo-Geo with the UniBIOS mod. Now I did not think this was necessary, and this seller might just want me to regret my purchase, but is it really necessary? I don't even know why you're still talking to a guy who tried to take $600 from you for a CMVS, but no. I don't think it's necessary. It'd be nice to have in some cases, but it's not like you can't get someone to add it to your CMVS later if you find that you're really into NEO GEO collecting. Just enjoy it as-is for now and see where that takes you. |

Though I have watched my pre-Special Edition Star Wars VHS tapes on it before. I don't have the LaserDiscs yet, like you do  |

I make sure to watch that thing every year. It was a steal off of eBay because the seller thought it was a Japanese set. Turns out it was just as American as Chuck E. Cheese's pizza and shitty toys. |
