It's not like people carry fucking gameboys around everywhere. I guess I'm a dying breed. No my friend, you are not. My Nintendo 2DS comes everywhere with me, with a small selection of games too.

I just recently got a hand me down in the form of an iPhone 5s (although I wouldn't buy one meself, my family are big fans of the Apple devices and they all want number 6 now that it's out and they had an extra 5 lying around so...). I've been quite impressed with what the thing's capable of.. True the vast bulk of it is shovelware-like rubbish, meant to appeal to the casuals. And I generally agree that touch controls are a poor excuse for an interface compared to a dedicated gaming device with pads, sticks, buttons & triggers - tactile makes all the difference. But there are several gems to be found too. The aforementioned Chaos Rings series (7 bucks for the 1st entry - not too shabby for a premier JRPG). And the Infinity Blade Trilogy... I'll never spend more time on it playing games on the phone battery (waste of precious energy) then I would on the Vita or PSP, but I'm personally still quite happy that I finally have access to some kewl stuff I would otherwise have missed. Plus, while you won't necessarily bring your Vita/PSP/(3)DS everywhere (even when you could), you'll almost certainly have yer phone with you wherever you go. So going by that, it's the very epitome of a portable gaming device. Just make sure you have a power bank (20,000+mAh) handy, and that friggin white umbilical with you at all times...

Maybe you'll enjoy FF All the Bravest. Spend your money and you may get Squal, who knows, you might get a dumb chocobo or a piglet instead

Thanks! It was free and only 40+Mb so I just went ahead and got it. Nonsense gheyme... lol Terrible reviews too... (although the App store ones were pretty good...) Wonder how long it'll take me to unlock Squall if I don't use any money... Actually more than the games themselves, I'm more impressed with the phone's ability to gamify life with some apps... You can level up by doing stuff in real life fer real!

To be honest I mostly play pont n' click games there. It would seem like the genre was made for the devices and yet there aren't many people that take advantage of it (No, hidden object games don't count; I hate those)

Guilion - There's a series of point & click games called "The Room" that is very, very well made. I'm not particularly fond of the genre (my wife loves it and plays those games all the time), but these ones looked really cool, especially the third. Here's another trailer:

I guess I'm a dying breed. Lol I also carry my gameboy around still. Maybe someone should hook these two up for the survival of the species lol

I don't play app/mobile games(most feel like garbage), thus is why I carry around my 3DS or Vita and sometimes the PSP

Just came here to say that I began playing a game called Gems of War, a rather low-budget match-3 game with an incredibly generic name, but quite relevant for me. That game is a spiritual successor to Puzzle Quest, made by the man who came up with the series of which that is a spin-off. So, yeah, cool stuff. CervantesHave you actually played one of them? It does look cool.

I finished the first one and played about half the second (saw my wife playing the third, it was quite an impressive game). Still not really my style of games, but for people who like the genre, I would say they must be among the best current ones.
