Ya mobile gaming? Ya that shit can go piss off. Seriously why do people pay for these cheap $2 phone games when you can get a handheld game that offers way more fun and gameplay depth then those phone games do. Why is it so cool nowadays to play that phone game garbage which the majority of phones games are garbage. They are there for a quick cash grab and nothing else.
Hell by a 3ds or even a vita. Even a gba Sp would work. They offer so much more depth to there games and they aren't trying to rip you off when you buy them. They aren't there for a quick cash grab usually unlike the majority of mobile games which are.

What the hell is the problem lukefonfabre388 can't people enjoy mobile games? I too tought there didn't exist any good mobile games until I found Rayman Fiesta Run and Rayman Jungle Run. They're really awesome! It's not like I sit down to play them, but when I'm waiting for food at a restaurant they're great. It's not like people carry fucking gameboys around everywhere. Grow up and accept that people play on their phones.

Lol I used to carry my gameboy around with me everywhere. I still do sometimes. Phone gaming is often just cheap $2 games that suck. There are some good ones but the sea of crap overshadows it.I mean the vita and 3ds were obsolete when they came out but that doesn't stop them.

I look at mobile games like atari games. They're simple one-mechanic games that are designed for limited play time. I have no beef with atari so I have no beef with mobile. Most people don't play these games for any longer than 5-10 min. at a time, it's just pick-up and play.

There are good mobile games but you have to go through a sea of crap to get to the good ones. You could probably make a lot of money if you made a good one and sold it on the app store or wherever you buy the games.
I just dont like paying for games without actual controls. There are some good games out there for mobile but a lot of bad ones that are just there for a quick cash grab.

They also work when there's no internet.

lukefonfabre388 not all mobile games have ads, for example Rayman. @player1 you don't always carry your gameboy with you, do you? Let's say you're grabbing a pizza after after school/work or waiting in the cinema for a movie.

Not always, but often. It's strongly preferable to what's on phones.

Having just played Monument Valley, I feel like I have to step in and say that there are some pretty awesome mobile games out there. You should also count Square-Enix's Chaos Rings series between them. Look at these games:
Maybe it's not obvious from the trailer, but the levels are like MC Escher paintings: you rotate parts of the scenery to make impossible connections between stairs and corridors, so the entire thing plays out like a spatial-based puzzle game (think of Portal or Antichamber), and it's very, very good.
Here is a Chaos Rings 3 trailer:
It's your pretty standard jRPG game, but man, it just looks impressive. These games, as I understand, are mobile exclusives.
Yeah, it may be hard to sort out the good things amongst all the crap, but the good games are certainly there. Also, it was through mobile that I played for the first time Ghost Trick and Liberation Maiden, and those games are great. Although I must be clear that I played all these games on a tablet, not on a phone, so maybe on a phone the cramped screen may make the whole experience worse than it should be.

I'd bet what I'm thinking isn't an original thought, but it sounds like the mobile gaming scene is like how Atari was before The Crash. Everyone's making games, most aren't that good, and it's tough to find the ones worth the money. Luckily, these days we have the internet and forums (and guys like Cervantes ) to show us what's what.

Eh, everything has their pros and cons. Sure I don't like mobile gaming but can see why people would be into it. Sure there is a lot of $2-5 garbage but hey GBA/DS/PSP/3DS/Vita/etc have plenty of $30+ garbage.
