Since it's summer here in the Northern hemisphere, I would like to ask: what do you think of lawn mowing as both an activity and an industry? Have you ever had anything important to say about it? Do you have any complaints about lawn mowing as a human activity? And, for the property owners out there, what kind of lawn mowers do you prefer? Please discuss.

Robot lawnmowers are fantastic. Not sure why you hate lawnmowers. Don't you want your grass cut?

Balder The reason I'm against lawnmowers and lawnmowing is because of how much it contributes to global warming. Almost 100% of the lawnmowers that I regularly see are gasoline type, and most of these are the larger rideable models, which typically have huge engines (bigger than ones found on most motorcycles). During these months most land owners spend at least an hour a week mowing lawns, but some people who live in rural settings and have large yards can probably spend upwards of three or four hours per week mowing lawns with their rideable mowers; this probably produces the same (or greater) amount of greenhouse gas that I produce on my 50cc scooter on a weekly basis. I see lawnmowing as a waste; a waste of resources, time, and a waste of a clean, healthy atmosphere. That's why I'm an advocate for non-motorized push mowers like this: If I was a land owner, that's what I would use.

People with a big plot of land would have to make it their primary job if they were to use that thing. Banning gas lawnmowers would be stupid as fuck, and I don't even think most environmentalists would support that.

Because, even though it's a fossil fuel, natural gas leaves no emissions or toxic fumes when burnt.....or are we talking two-stroke mowers here?

Well considering the people who own large plots of land in america tend to be rednecks living in conservative states like Texas where they barely have to pay taxes and have no regard for the environment's welfare, then I honestly don't give a good god-damn about those people. If they don't care about government funding and the environment, then no one should feel bad if they are forced to get off their fat asses and physically maintain their lawns. If every american did this then maybe we wouldn't have the highest percentage of obese citizens. It would be a win-win scenario.

Only mower I've ever used was a very old rusty push mower as a kid for our summer vacation place. They had a motorized one that only the grown ups were allowed to use. I've never wanted a lawn after that. Grass needs to become concrete or asphalt, then I'm happy.

Having a big plot of land would be the perfect excuse to have a ride-on mower. If I were Maestro, I would have a shed. Not only I would keep my diesel mower in there, I would also make my own bio-diesel, so, guilt free, I can go... WHEEEEEE!on my Victaaaaaaah!
